Presbyweb linked a book review about a new book called Pornified: How Pornography Is Transforming Our Lives, Our Relationships, and Our Families. Amazon says the book is not out until September 8, 2005.

My pastor is finishing his doctorate. His subject area was pornography and the Church. This is an issue we all need to address. I hope to read the book as soon as I can get a copy.

  1. Oh, this is about Pornified. I just read this book, and it is very interesting, maybe twice as interesting if the review that you linked to is correct and Pamela Paul, the author, is not a Christian. The book catalogs ways in which pornography hurts people. It has a chapter on men, one on women, one (the scariest) on children, etc. Everybody shold read it I think.

  2. Thanks for this Susan. This is an issue that the Church is far too silent about and so many people live in quite desperation because of it. I think it is one of the most spiritually immobilizing forces in our culture. It deadens us to God’s voice and depersonalizes those around us.
I am glad you found it worthwhile. I look forward to reading it myself.
