Three things happened to me yesterday.
First, I was perusing Rodger Seller’s blog and came across his post Someone Help Me Get This. Rodger was writing about the blogger’s legalistic dismissal of a piece written by Gordon McDonald in Leadership Magazine. (Rodger has a link to McDonald’s excellent article.)
Second, I read an article on the IRD website, IRD Becomes Foil for NCC Fundraising. It is about a National Council of Churches fundraising letter where (IMO) Robert Edgar comes unhinged.
Third, I watched some of the House of Representatives “debate” last night about withdrawing troops from Iraq. I watched the fights last night, and a congressional session broke out to paraphrase an old hockey joke.
All this together brought to mind a Mark Heard song from twenty years ago. I think he was ahead of his time:
