I’ll Be Back

I am writing from Dallas airport, waiting for my flight home. I just spent the last 48 hours working on the '06-07 Mission Work Plan for the General Assembly Council. My brain is fried, but we had a highly productive meeting. We are pressing toward the finish line as we nail down wording for specific objectives. We have to meet again in early January and will have some tweaking between now and then, but I am pleased with where we are headed. About 140 synod and presbytery executives arrived in town last night for a consultation concerning the mission funding task force's work. We stole six executives for an hour last night to get their response to our work so far. It was a rewarding conversation.

I wish I could tell you more specifics, but so many things are still open to refinement that I don't want to create misleading expectations should things change. If the team thinks that is appropriate, I hope to write more on the Work Plan after it is finalized but before the February GAC meeting. Right now, I invite you to keep this process in your prayers.
