The General Assembly Council meeting got underway Tuesday. We began by hearing the final reports of the Governance Task Force, the Performance Excellence Task Force, and the Mission Work Plan '07-'08 Task Force. I have already done posts on two of these reports. You can find them at:

GAC Mission Work Plan: 2007-2008

"Roots" of the GAC Mission Work Plan

We spent about 2.5 hours presenting and discussing the reports. Most of the questions were about clarifying the process and thinking that went into the reports. So far, I have not sensed any significant objection to anything reported. We will continue to have opportunities for informal discussion throughout the week. A final vote will be taken Saturday morning. If you have input you would like to make, you can leave comments at one of the links above.

We also learned that there will be a special called meeting of the GAC in Chicago on May 23 to elect a new executive director. Other than that, not much new to report. I'll check in here as the meeting progresses.
