The GAC approved the Governance Report by a vote of 38-23 with minor modifications. The most significant change is that the original plan called for nine members from the three preceding General Assemblies (three from each assembly.) That number was reduced to two members from each of the three preceding assemblies for a total of six. One youth member, synod executive, and presbytery executive member were added, leaving the grand total the same.
The Mission Work Plan '07-'08 passed unanimously with two wording improvements. I will post the eight objectives later in the day with the new wording. Essentially, the "Identity" objective was altered to clarify the need to nurture activities like the spiritual disciplines and the importance of experience instead of purely intellectual activity. The end of the Evangelism objective was altered to emphasize those with "no religious affiliation" to "no church affiliation."
