I checked my email this evening, and a message reminded me to make arrangements for the September General Assembly Council meeting. This will be the first-ever joint meeting with GAC and Presbytery Executives. Furthermore, we will be living into a reconfigured GAC structure with a new moderator, a new Executive Director, and staff who are living into a whole new staffing structure.

As I reflected on this upcoming meeting, I tried to find a metaphor that would capture how I see my duties. I know the biblical imagery would be that of shepherding the church. However, shepherding doesn’t quite get it for me. Actually, I think another kind of herding might be more appropriate. The EDS commercial below pretty much sums it up.

Oh Yeah! I’m living a dream!

I love this commercial- it’s so much more imaginative than most of what’s on TV.
I’m sorry it’s so frustrating. It’s frustrating to me too- good opportunity to channel that into prayer, so I shall.

This is even funnier than when you described it to me Mike. I cracked up when the guy sneezes on the horse. What a great commercial.
