The heat is on

If you have read my blog for any length of time, you probably know I am deeply skeptical about climate change science. It is not that I don't believe there has been a warming trend and that there may be problems, but the apocalyptic rhetoric that so many use to frame the issue is a major put-off.

The Economist has just published a lengthy survey of the issue from scientific, economic, and political angles called The heat is on by Emma Duncan. Unfortunately, my link only shows you the leader for the article because the whole survey is not available for free. It can be read in the print edition. While it still overstates the certainty of some issues in my estimation, I think it is a good summary of the topic, showing the nuance and complexity involved in understanding the issue. It is one of the best brief overviews of the issue I have seen. It is truly informative as opposed to propagandist.
