‘Star Trek’ lives, in upstate New York

Now these folks are serious Trekkies. A group of fans is making 22 new episodes of the original Star Trek. So far, they have only made a couple, but original Star Trek cast members are getting into the act. CNET has a video review of the project you can view by clicking here.

Fascinating. But from an economic standpoint, it is most illogical. Even so, may they live long and prosper.

  1. Yeah, I read about this at Scientific American but it was like reading Hebrew to me. I couldn’t make heads or tails of the description. Thanks for an article that makes a little more sense out of it.
As a side note, I do remember that the reason they created the transporter beam was not because of any great futuristic thinking. The cost of showing the cast shuttling between the ship and planets was cost prohibitive and would have taken up to much of the shows air time. That hasn’t stopped folks from to trying to actully do it.

  2. Michael,
you’re right about the reason they created the transporter. Thanks for the link…. I feel the urge to go get my old Star Trek uniform…. ooops, slipping into the pagen past there sorry… renew the mind, renew the mind. 🙂

  3. LOL
Never had a uniform but I did have a model of the Enterprise and phaser. The only reason I have flip phone is so I can play like I have a communicator.
