Hook ’em Cats!

Big1205schoollogoksuMANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Touchdown, Colt McCoy. Texas, 7-0. Let the rout of Kansas State begin.

Not so fast. The Longhorns' star quarterback injured his right shoulder on the play and was done for the night.

And now so are Texas' chances of repeating as national champions.

Josh Freeman threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score to lead the Wildcats to a 45-42 victory over No. 4 Texas on Saturday night.

Way to go cats!!!

  1. It is sure nice to see the Wildcats show signs of continued life.
Remember the weekend 20 some years ago when Nebraska came down and fumbled the kickoff return and recovered in the endzone for a safety? The Manhattan Mercury headline read “Nebraska Scores Impressive Come-From-Behind Victory”. They left off the actual score which was something like 45-2.

  2. LOL
I don’t remember that game. I do remember going to a game where they played Oklahoma U. in about 1982. I think the Cats were up like 21-7 at the end of the third quarter. The Cats lost (as I recall) 35-21.
Then there was the game when someone lit off a cherry bomb under the stands. The opposing team that is was the half-time signal and left the field. Four plays later KSU scored. *grin*

  3. Despite the Horns’ loss, we were excited to see our dear friend’s son, Chris Ogbonnaya, score his first TD of the season at the end of the game for UT!
    Next year!

  4. Very Cool!
