The NFL Playoff Matrix and the Kansas City Chiefs: We’re in!

When I got up this morning, the following four things had to happen for the Chiefs to make the NFL playoffs:

  1. Chiefs had to beat Jacksonville
  2. Cincinnati had to lose
  3. Tennessee had to lose
  4. Denver had to lose

The first three happened by 3:30 pm Central time. Then it took an entire game and nearly an entire overtime for the Broncos to succumb to the 49ers. Amazing!

Chiefs don't deserve it, but we will take it!

Go Chiefs!!!

  1. Wow, Michael. What a scenario! Unlikely, at that.
You have to hand it to the Chiefs for scoring that many points against Jacksonville, even if at home. They deserve some credit, now. (I am kind of an NFL watcher from afar, so pardon any misstatements I just made here).

  2. The Chiefs have had their moments. The just seem wildly inconsistent and can’t seem to win on the road except against the worst teams like Oakland. I suspect they might go down ugly against Indy but we will see.

  3. That was amazing. That was a good game too, between the Niners and Broncos. Now, if the Chiefs just give the ball to Larry Johnson throughout the entire game with the Colts, they have a good chance of beating the Colts.
