USA Today: Gators stun No. 1 Buckeyes 41-14 for BCS title game rout

GLENDALE, Ariz. — It was a night for the improbables to shine. When No. 2 Florida, an underdog many thought wouldn't come close to beating No. 1 Ohio State, thrashed the Buckeyes 41-14 in the Tostitos Bowl Championship Series title game Monday night at University of Phoenix Stadium, there were plenty of unlikely stars. ….

I didn't really have a "dog in this hunt," so the game was not all that inspiring or depressing to me. However, the game did have one redeeming value. Ohio State made the performance of the Kansas City Chiefs in Saturday's playoff game look downright stellar. And that is no easy task!

  1. My new son-in-law is a graduate of U of F and was ecstatic about the win! So we had a good night Chez Grace.

  2. He should be ecstatic. I am hard pressed to think of a bigger “thumpin’” (to quote a certain president) a #1 sports team has taken in a national championship game.

  3. Yeah. I really can’t remember seeing the Buckeyes look worse. I mean it was just unreal. And the Gators looked every bit as good, as the Buckeyes looked bad.
    A Buckeye fan,

  4. It was a pretty lopsided event. They kept talking about the length of time off between games for OSU and I wonder if that didn’t have at least some influence. Not to take anything away from Florida. They were stoked!
