You are an accomplished artist with a studio who teaches college art classes. You married a few years ago and now have two small boys at home. You decide to be a stay-at-home mom, but where do you find the time for a creative outlet?
This is the dilemma my friend Erin Arnold has found herself in lately. Two weeks ago, she started a blog called Naptime Studios to help address her need for a creative outlet. She is still working on the specifics, but as I understand it, she has been doing small pieces during Maxwell’s and Liam’s naptime. She then posts these on her blog. Recruiting "Moms" to participate. So far I have enlisted 4 others besides myself, and will invite 7 more to join.
Am putting finishing touches on rules and materials and am in the process of gathering all the materials needed for each "Naptime Kit".
Someone suggested pushing the idea further to be thinking up a place to showcase this project and the finished pieces, and be thinking of display-
You can see some of the work she has posted on her blog by scrolling through her posts, and you can learn more about her ideas at this post and this post.
So, if you are interested, I invite you to check out Erin’s blog and see what develops. But do so quietly. Max and Liam may be taking a nap.
