They’re Back!

Attrac9 "The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and could be again." (Terence Mann to Ray Kinsella, Field of Dreams)

  1. Go Astros! We don’t have opening day tickets but will be at Minute Maid Tuesday night.

  2. I am not going to KC opening day either. Mabye later in the month.
Predictions are that KC could win 75 games this year. I’m just hoping they don’t lose 100 again.
Meanwhile, I will also have my eyes on my National League favorite team, the Cardinals.

  3. “Field of Dreams” is one my favorite films! I’m not even a big baseball fan, but I just love that movie.

  4. Michael, I’m looking forward to another year when Kansas makes everyone else look good. What a wonderful gift the offer to the rest of the major league teams!-)

  5. Rhea, there are some many great lines in that film. It is a classic.

  6. Neil, “What a wonderful gift the offer to the rest of the major league teams!” It is important to have a purpose in life. 🙂

  7. Oh God… now we’ve got another 160 or so of these things to live through! I’ll confess… I just don’t get it. Hit a ball… run 90 feet… scratch yourself… spit, wait on all those “signals”… scratch again… maybe run another 90 feet… and 65 THOUSAND people watch this for 3 hours?
I don’t know… am I a communist or something that I just don’t get it? Give me a good lacrosse game anyday (the Duke games notwithstanding!)

  8. And you get to pay outrageous prices to boot. 🙂
It all goes back to “Fiddler on the Roof” ….Tradition!!!
(Although personally I go more for futbol but I don’t expect Americans will wake up to that in my lifetime.)
