A couple of times in the past, I have posted an outdated version of the chart below about US pollution. I found this updated version on the EPA website (HT: Don Bosch) so I thought I would include it here.
I think this is a remarkable graphic. Still, the EPA estimates 103 million Americans live in counties with pollution above national air quality standards. There is much more work to do, but the trend is in the right direction.
