New vice chair is an elder from Kansas City

LOUISVILLE — Carol J. Adcock, an elder from Fort Worth, TX, was unanimously elected chair of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly Council (GAC) at a meeting here Feb. 13.

Adcock, a member of St. Stephen Presbyterian Church in Grace Presbytery, was elected chair on recommendation of the council’s nominating committee.

Michael W. Kruse, an elder from Kansas City, MO, was unanimously elected vice chair. He is a member of Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church in Heartland Presbytery.

Adcock and Kruse, who both ran unopposed in the elections, will begin their two-year terms immediately following this summer’s 218th General Assembly in San Jose, CA. …

Carol is a wonderful choice for chair. However, the selection of Vice-Chair makes me question the wisdom of the GAC.

    Of course, if you Presbyterians focused more on holiness, maybe you wouldn’t need a whole seperate chairperson just to deal with vice. 🙂

    Thank! There are lots of good folks at the GAC. There has been radical change over the past fours and a lot more coming. The fruits of it are only beginning to surface but I think we will see more soon.

    Establishment? Moi? I’m not sure I’m biologically capable. Remember that I left a firm with twelve people because I couldn’t take working for big business. 🙂
