Sorry that this comment is not relevant to the rather amusing picture, I came to your blog via Pete Rollins website and was interested in your response to his post on Batman as the ultimate capitalist superhero. I would love to read some of the books that have helped you to formulate your viewpoint but have read little about our global economic history before. I would be very grateful if you could make a few book suggestions to start me off. -
Now just wait a minute!!! We all know that there aren’t no dinosaurs on account of they didn’t get to the Ark on time.
Same goes for Unicorns. (Extra marks for anyone who remembers the song about that.)
Another question that comes to mind is, OK, so Mr Noah brought the animals 2 by 2 (except for the 7 of the other kind), so when they landed, there were 2 of each ……
But then what?
PS: There’s a really fine book (“The Preservationist”, by David Maine) about Noah, his family, and the flood. Each chapter is written from the viewpoint of one of the people (Mrs Noah gets her say, along with the sons and daughters.). It starts before the flood, and ends after they land. One of the scenes at the end, after Noah dies, and Mrs Noah grieves, reminds me a lot of Mark Twain’s “The Adam and Eve Diaries”, where at the end, after Eve dies, Adam says, “Where she was, there was paradise”. Twain was such an old softie.
At one point, as the waters start coming in, one of the daughters, on the boat, sees the people below, most of them begging to get on, and asks “Why, Lord, why me? Why them?”
