Oklahoma, Florida to Meet in BCS National Championship

Fox News: Oklahoma, Florida to Meet in BCS National Championship

… Nobody dominated the last two months of college football like Oklahoma and Florida. Every poll and pretty much everyone outside of Texas agreed on that.

No surprise, then, that the Gators and Sooners were the easy picks despite having one loss each. This pair of power programs with Heisman-worthy quarterbacks and 12-1 records will meet Jan. 8 in Miami for the BCS national championship. …

Everyplace I went in Kansas City Saturday, I saw Sooner Nation well evidenced. I'm looking forward to Jan 8, when it becomes a Sooner Nation. 🙂 Big 12 rules.

Only in your dreams. Gators gonna chew up the sooners. 🙂

  2. John. Do I detect a wee bit of Texas bitterness here? 🙂

  3. Heisman-worthy quarterbacks? 12-1 records? Hello!
Colt McCoy and the ‘Horns were robbed. If the Big 12 used the SEC rules, Texas would have played Missouri in the Big 12 South playoff. And won. Again.
As for Texas bitterness–guilty as charged!
    Go Gators!

  4. There is the story of the Texas rancher bragging to an Okie about his ranch. He said, “I can get in my pickup at one end of my ranch, drive all day, and still not get to the other side by sundown.”
To which the Okie responded, “Yeah. I used to have Ford that drove like that too.”
That is to say, it’s all a matter of perspective. From my perspective, any system that gets the Sooners in ahead of Texas is by definition fair. 🙂
Seriously, I think the BCS thing is a crock. I think we need some sort of national playoff system.
