David Brush had this vid on his blog. Peter Rollins suggests that Christian leadership is about refusing to lead. What do you think?

Indeed it’s hard to find leaders that push back at times. I knew of a pastor that would never take vacation for fear that the church would fall apart if he wasn’t there on a Sunday. What was sad is that it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, indeed Sunday’s would fail because he had centered it around his gifts, talents, and his drive to ‘do it the right way’; no one could fill his shoes. Likewise his people were co-dependent, and when he did leave, the church fell apart.

Instead of a video, I see a textbox on both sites.
From your title I expected to see a misdirection, but this was a little more than I bargained for. 🙂 -
I know what you mean, David. I have a pastor friend who says he periodically submits his resume to become savior of the world. God always sends it back, “Position already filled.” 🙂
Rollins is being provocative here. I think clearly there is a role for pastors to offer direction. The real question I think is posture. Is the pastor a coach helping a developing players or a parent supervising children? -
Codepoke, I just tried this in IE and had the same problem. If you go to

and scroll down five vids to “Refusing to Lead” you may be able to view it there. Sorry about that.
