Is Oregon's high minimum wage partially to blame for the state's 12.1% unemployment rate, second highest in the nation (only Michigan is higher at 12.6%, see chart above of Oregon's jobless rate in blue vs. US rate in red)?   1. Yeah, and Washington State isn’t far behind them! I was having this discussion with my 13 year old, as they were doing a unit on legislation for history class.
    I think that they need to rethink a rate for kids with jobs, too…minimum wage for kids should be lower — they’re pricing babysitting right out of the ballpark!
