I’m convinced that rooting for the Royals all these losing years is a fantastic spiritual discipline. I just wish I could figure out what it’s forming in me, other than envy of the stupid Yankees and Braves.

Indeed, even with a newly renovated temple it does seem that there is no end of exile in sight.
