I do find it surprising, though, that the topmost givers are almost all non-corporate entities–presumably out to help the “little guy.”
Victor, I found that surprising as well. Half of the top 20 are labor unions.
It also seems clear that AT@T still takes leads in knowing how to reach out and “touch” someone. 🙂

The only difference between corporations and the unions, is most corporations (not including financial investment firms) produce something and create jobs for people with pay scales that include, low, middle and high income for their employees. CEO’s and Executives get paid based upon the corporations profits. (many are way overpaid)
Unions are structured like corporations, only they don’t produce anything, they employ very few people, they represent a very small % of the total work force, most of their employees are paid high wages and benefits, their CEO’s and executives are overpaid, just like corporation CEO’s and Executives, and they get paid whether they do anything constructive or not.
What’s interesting about the Obama jobs act is the only jobs it proposes to create are ALL union jobs. The act doesn’t help 80-90$ of the American work force.
