  1. I couldn’t complete the questionnnaire. Why ask “or not” at the end of question, and then provide “Yes” and “No” check boxes.
What if I as responding to the “or not” with a “no”. Should I tikc “yes”?
    silly questions

  2. I scored 39–close to the average for a Gen Xer (and I am a Gen Xer–born in 1971).

  3. I’m confused… does a daily newspaper include the online version or do they mean print? I haven’t read a print edition in a couple of years but I read several “papers” from around the world. By religion do they mean religious observance or a relationship with God? As a pastor I have little time for religion but plenty of time for God! Does ‘Space Invaders’ on my iphone count as a video game?
So I took the quiz a couple of times and scored somewhere between 26 and 69!

  4. LOL. So Phil, did you understand this is was just for fun, or not?
    Yes
    No
    🙂

  5. Josh, I was 12 years ahead of you … right at the cusp between Boomers and Gen X (according to Strauss and Howe.) So I guess mine fits too.
Neil, I had some similar thoughts. I wonder how the questions were weighted?

  6. I got a 78. Very millenial. Born in 1984.
    Neil, Space Invaders definitely counts.

I scored between a 39 and a 52, which puts me squarely in the Gen X bracket (some of my answers would legitimately differ depending on the day). My age (26) puts me in the older end of Millenials. With a lot of descriptions of Gen Xers and Millenials, I feel somewhere between a young Gen Xer and an old Millenial. Maybe if I got some tattoos and piercings it would push me over to the Millenial side…?

  8. I scored a 3. No wonder I’m having a hard time understanding new younger people at work. Maybe I’d better just retire.

  9. Hey Michael, great blog! Lots of insightful posts for news & culture which I really appreciate.
Would you mind sharing this post, and maybe others, on a new resource library for youth pastors? http://www.calledtoyouthministry.com/resources
Let me know–thanks & God bless!!

  10. Hi again, just seeing if you’d be interested in sharing this post (or maybe others) in a resource library for youth pastors? http://www.calledtoyouthministry.com
Let me know what you think, thanks–and Happy Easter!

  11. Nathaniel, I don’t know enough about your organization or the materials your promoting to be able to endorse it. On the surface it looks great but youth ministry aid is simply not topic I can easily evaluate.

  12. Hi Michael, thanks and sorry for my late reply now — I had seen other blogs send emails when a follow-up comment is posted and so I put it out of my mind when I didn’t see one–my apologies!
Thanks much. Would love to chat with you more if you’d like to consider it. Many of your posts I believe would be helpful for youth pastors if you’d consider re-posting. It’d be a blessing for our community but no pressure at all.
Let me know if you think you may be interested, and thanks again!
