I don't often use this blog to promote political causes, but today I'm making an exception. Kansas City School Board Superintendent John Covington led the board to make a long overdue reduction in the number of schools a few weeks ago. The consolidation will reduce overhead, and it is a move toward improving the quality of education in one of the most dysfunctional school districts in the nation. Some school board candidates are running to undo Covington's courageous decision. It is time to get behind Covington. Therefore, I want to encourage all my Kansas City, MO, readers to get out there today and vote for the reform candidates who support Covington.
