Great article. I think the first tablet device I had was a PalmPilot in the late 90's.

    I was the proud owner of an Osborn O-1…$1400 in 1981 with an external. 9″ amber screen Oooooooo… The term was “trans” portable. It weighed about 17 pounds but you could drop it out of the trunk of a car and it booted right up… Trust me, I know…
