Star Wars/PCUSA Reprise

Some bloggers have been comparing Star Wars and the struggles within the PCUSA. (ex. Classical Presbyterian) Therefore, I thought I should reprise a post I came across last summer.

Apparently, someone made a pirated copy of "Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and translated it into Chinese. Someone, in turn, took that Chinese translation and added English subtitles gleaned from the Chinese. The double translation led to some "interesting" subtitles. In June of last year, a blogger named Jeremy snapped some video pics that illustrated some of the translations. His entire post is here: Episode III, The Backstroke of the West. (Caution: Some may find the language in some translations offensive.)

Two clips were of particular interest to me.

I love the valley speak Emperor, and these clips confirm what I always suspected: Darth Vader is a product of the PCUSA.

General Assembly Council is next week. I have been in the backyard practicing my lightsaber moves and levitating the Mazda. I have also been practicing my Jedi mind tricks on the cat. That part isn't going so well.

Your last post at Classical Presbyterian made me laugh out loud in the family room, so much so that my wife asked what was wrong with me! That was wonderful and very funny!

  2. Thanks Todd. I could easily get carried away with this stuff. But what made you think I was joking? 🙂

You should know better than to try mind moves on a cat! 🙂
Seriously, thanks for the reminder to hold you in extra prayer next week. It’s discouraging to feel like most of the denom admins/execs are so out of touch that there is a sense of the adversarial.

  4. Thanks Dana, I will be at it from noon Monday until noon Saturday. Prayers are much appreciated.

  5. Oh yes. As to the cat. I waved my hand toward him in the early hours of the morning saying “I don’t need to wake them now. I can eat later.” That effort was greeted with a “Meeoooow!!! Meeoooow!!!” With you, I suspect they are immune to Jedi mind tricks.
