Ethical Analysis of Torture

Unless you have been in a coma over the past few months, you have probably noticed that torture is a hot topic these days. A few weeks ago, I began looking through some resources and realized that I could find very little that explicitly and directly addressed torture from a biblical ethical standpoint. Yes, we all agree torture is wrong, but unless you are a complete pacifist, you must also say war is always wrong because we aren't supposed to kill. It is the issues at the ethical margins that make it challenging.

Theology Today from Princeton Seminary put out an issue recently that contains several articles dealing with torture. I haven't had time to read them myself, so I cannot evaluate them. Thanks to Kairos for pointing these out!
