Prophetic Marching Bands

The Ohio State marching band took the field as I watched the halftime show of the BCS championship game Monday night. I was distracted while watching, but I remember the band forming some shape (indeterminable because of the camera angle) that included some guys marching around with smoke makers. The music sounded rather sullen, but I could not place the tune. Had I watched closer, I would have seen it was the theme of Titanic, and the shape they were making was a sinking ship!

Ohio State and the Titanic. Prophetic, don’t you think?

Here is a YouTube clip of Ohio State performing the routine at an earlier game.

  1. Yeah. My team (i.e., Ohio State). The bigger they are the harder they fall.
Michigan is slowly regaining its health, after eating too many Buckeyes. The Gators just haven’t eaten enough of them yet, to be beaten by the Buckeyes!

  2. Sometimes I think the worst possible thing to have happen is to go into a game ranked #1. You start feeling too confident and the other team has nothing to lose.
But as the Cub’s fans say “Wait till next year!”

  3. I actually thought, after Ginn ran the opening kickoff for a TD, that it would place OSU into a lackadaisical mindset and it could spell trouble.
I was amazed to be right.
